Journal ArticleDOI

Integrative analysis of microRNA, mRNA and aCGH data reveals asbestos- and histology-related changes in lung cancer.

TL;DR: Novel asbestos‐related miRNAs and target genes with inverse correlation were discovered and over‐expression of the well known squamous cell carcinoma‐associated miR‐205 was linked to down‐regulation of the DOK4 gene.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genotoxicity of polyvinylpyrrolidone-coated silver nanoparticles in BEAS 2B cells

TL;DR: The lack of induction of chromosome damage by the PVP-coated AgNPs is possibly due to the coating which may protect the cells from direct interaction with the AgNPS, either by reducing ion leaching from the particles or by causing extensive agglomeration of the nanoparticles, with a possible reduction of the cellular uptake.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gene expression profiles in asbestos-exposed epithelial and mesothelial lung cell lines

TL;DR: This study exposed the human cell lines A549, Beas-2B and Met5A to crocidolite asbestos and determined time-dependent gene expression profiles by using Affymetrix arrays, and identified chromosomal regions enriched with genes potentially contributing to common responses to asbestos in these cell lines.
