Journal ArticleDOI

Sequential leaching of marine ferromanganese precipitates: Genetic implications

TL;DR: In this paper, the results of leaching experiments were carried out on twentyone hydrogenetic crust samples from different locations in the central Pacific and the results were compared with four crust and nodule samples of different genetic origin.
Journal ArticleDOI

Iron and manganese oxide mineralization in the Pacific

TL;DR: For example, the mean Fe/Mn ratios vary from about 24 000 (up to 58% elemental Fe) for hydrothermal seamount ironstones to about 0.001 (Up to 52% Mn) for Hydrothermal stratabound manganese oxides from active volcanic arcs as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemical and mineralogical control of different genetic types of deep-sea nodules from the Pacific Ocean

TL;DR: In this paper, a genetical classification is proposed on the basis of statistically computed interelement relationships, which leads to different genetic types of nodules: early diagenetic type A, hydrogenetic type B, and mixed-type AB.
