On the use of Sentinel-2 for coastal habitat mapping and satellite-derived bathymetry estimation using downscaled coastal aerosol band

TL;DR: The major findings of this study demonstrate the advantages of the downscaled Sentinel-2 coastal aerosol band 1 for both optically shallow habitat and satellite-derived bathymetry mapping due to its great water penetration.
Journal ArticleDOI

Accuracy analysis for DSM and orthoimages derived from SPOT HRS stereo data using direct georeferencing

TL;DR: The first goal was to derive orthoimages and digital surface models (DSM) from the along track stereo data by applying the rigorous model with direct georeferencing and without ground control points (GCPs), which improved the absolute accuracy of the resulting ortho images and DSM significantly.

Towards Automated DEM Generation from High Resolution Stereo Satellite Images

TL;DR: In this article, a system for highly automated DSM and orthoimage generation based on CARTOSAT-1 imagery is presented, which processes photometrically corrected level-1 stereo scenes using the rational polynomial coefficients (RPC) universal sensor model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assessment of Cartosat-1 and WorldView-2 stereo imagery in combination with a LiDAR-DTM for timber volume estimation in a highly structured forest in Germany

TL;DR: In this paper, the potential of Cartosat-1 and WorldView-2 was assessed for timber volume estimation in a complex forest in Germany using Semi-Global Matching (SGM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Building Reconstruction Using DSM and Orthorectified Images

TL;DR: An investigation is reported about extraction of 3D building models from high resolution DSMs and orthorectified images produced from Worldview-2 stereo satellite imagery and a model driven approach based on the analysis of the 3D points of DSMs in a 2D projection plane is proposed.
