Abstract: Se2I4(Sb2F11)2 has been prepared and its structure determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction; the Se2I42+cation has an eclipsed S2O42– type structure with two Sel2+ units joined by a weak selenium–selenium bond [2.841(2)A] and very weak iodine–iodine interactions [3.756(2), 3.661(2)A].

Abstract: cp2VX(NO)(cp = C5H5,X = Br, I) are fluxional molecules in which linear and bent VNO groups interconvert; the molecule with the linear VNO group necessarily contains at least one ring with less than η5hapticity, While cp2VI(NO) decomposes in vacuo in tetrahydrofuran solution to give [(cpVI)2{cpV(NO)}2(µ-O)4]whose X-ray crystal structure is reported.
