Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of surface films formed on lithium in propylene carbonate solutions
TL;DR: In this article, two possible mechanisms for the formation of alkyl carbonates are discussed: nucleophilic reaction of propylene carbonate with basic species such as OH−, and one-electron reduction by lithium metal, followed by free radical termination reactions.
Journal ArticleDOI
The electrochemistry of noble metal electrodes in aprotic organic solvents containing lithium salts
TL;DR: In this article, the electrochemical behavior of various non-aqueous organic electrolyte systems has been investigated using inert metal electrodes, which included polycrystalline gold and silver, and various techniques including cyclic voltammetry, FTIR and XPS were used to characterize the main electrochemical reactions that occur in these systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Study of Bisulfate Adsorption on PT(111) Single Crystal Electrodes Using In-situ Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy
TL;DR: In this paper, the first spectroscopic evidence that bisulfate anion adsorption is associated with the anomalous peaks seen in the cyclic voltammetry of Pt(111) in sulfuric acid was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of Surface Films Formed on Lithium in Dimethoxyethane and Tetrahydrofuran Solutions
TL;DR: In this paper, surface films formed on lithium metal in dimethoxyethane (DME) and tetrahydrofuran (THF) solutions of,, and were analyzed using FTIR, SIMS, and XPS spectroscopies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bringing forward the development of battery cells for automotive applications: Perspective of R&D activities in China, Japan, the EU and the USA
Mario Marinaro,Dominic Bresser,Engelbert Beyer,Peter W. Faguy,Kei Hosoi,Hong Li,Julija Sakovica,Khalil Amine,Margret Wohlfahrt-Mehrens,Stefano Passerini +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors give insights about the presented R&D trends and the current penetration of electric vehicles in the mass market, as well as a perspective article is presented.
