Jihadism in Western Europe After the Invasion of Iraq: Tracing Motivational Influences from the Iraq War on Jihadist Terrorism in Western Europe
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the importance of the invasion and occupation of Iraq as motivation for recent acts of jihadist terrorism in Western Europe and argued that the Iraq war was a significant motivating factor for the terrorists in both cases, but that the terrorists linked the Iraq issue with perceived injustices against Muslims in Europe and globally.
