Journal ArticleDOI
Autologous mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in stroke patients.
TL;DR: In patients with severe cerebral infarcts, the intravenous infusion of autologous MSCs appears to be a feasible and safe therapy that may improve functional recovery and avoid adverse cell‐related, serological, or imaging‐defined effects.
Journal ArticleDOI
A long-term follow-up study of intravenous autologous mesenchymal stem cell transplantation in patients with ischemic stroke.
TL;DR: Intravenous autologous MSCs transplantation was safe for stroke patients during long‐term follow‐up and may improve recovery after stroke depending on the specific characteristics of the patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
A randomized trial of mesenchymal stem cells in multiple system atrophy.
Phil Hyu Lee,Ji E. Lee,Han Soo Kim,Sook Keun Song,Hye Sun Lee,Hyo Suk Nam,June-Won Cheong,Yong Jeong,Hae-Jeong Park,Dong Joon Kim,Chung Mo Nam,Jong Doo Lee,Hyun Ok Kim,Young H. Sohn +13 more
TL;DR: This work evaluated the efficacy of autologous mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) in patients with MSA‐cerebellar type (MSA‐C) and found it to be safe and effective.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neuroprotective effects of human mesenchymal stem cells on dopaminergic neurons through anti-inflammatory action.
You Joung Kim,Hyun Jung Park,Gwang Lee,Oh Young Bang,Young Hwan Ahn,Eun-Hye Joe,Hyun Ok Kim,Phil Hyu Lee +7 more
TL;DR: HMSC treatment in rats showed that TH‐ip neuronal loss induced by LPS stimulation in the SN was considerably decreased and was clearly accompanied by a decrease in activation of microglia, as well as TNF‐α and iNOS mRNA expression and production of TNF-α.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autologous Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy Delays the Progression of Neurological Deficits in Patients With Multiple System Atrophy
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that MSC therapy in patients with MSA was safe and delayed the progression of neurological deficits with achievement of functional improvement in the follow‐up period.
