Journal ArticleDOI

On the numerical asymmetry in calculating Coriolis terms through the splitting method in a mesoscale model

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the required asymmetry in the splitting can cause a considerable error in the boundary-layer winds of atmospheric models if not handled in a specific way.
Book ChapterDOI

Anti-Clockwise Rotation of the Wind Hodograph and Its Relation to Thermal Forcing

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the reasons for anticlockwise rotation of the wind hodograph in the boundary layer and showed that usually the pressure-gradient term is the leading one and the advection term is very small.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial Non-Uniformity of Surface Temperature of the Dead Sea and Adjacent Land Areas

TL;DR: The application to modeling of the observed SST/LST spatial non-uniformity will advance the knowledge of atmospheric dynamics over hypersaline lakes and contradict satellite observations of monthly skin temperature distribution over the Dead Sea by the Weather Forecast and Research model.
