Two-Year Outcomes of the Ranibizumab for Edema of the mAcula in Diabetes (READ-2) Study
Quan Dong Nguyen,Syed Mahmood Shah,Syed Mahmood Shah,Afsheen Khwaja,Roomasa Channa,Elham Hatef,Diana V. Do,David S. Boyer,Jeffery S. Heier,Prema Abraham,Allen B. Thach,Eugene S. Lit,Bradley S. Foster,Erik Kruger,Pravin U. Dugel,Thomas S.K. Chang,Arup Das,Thomas A. Ciulla,John S. Pollack,Jennifer I. Lim,Dean Eliot,Peter A. Campochiaro +21 more
TL;DR: Intraocular injections of RBZ provided benefit for patients with DME for at least 2 years, and when combined with focal or grid laser treatments, the amount of residual edema was reduced, as were the frequency of injections needed to control edema.
Journal ArticleDOI
HAWK and HARRIER: Phase 3, Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Masked Trials of Brolucizumab for Neovascular Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Pravin U. Dugel,Adrian Koh,Yuichiro Ogura,Glenn J. Jaffe,Ursula Schmidt-Erfurth,David M. Brown,André Marcelo Vieira Gomes,James Warburton,Andreas Weichselberger,Frank G. Holz,Hawk,Harrier Study Investigators +11 more
TL;DR: Brolucizumab was noninferior to aflibercept in visual function at Week 48, and >50% of broluczumab 6 mg-treated eyes were maintained on q12w dosing interval through Week 48 and Anatomic retinal fluid outcomes favored Brolucizuab over afl fibercept.
Journal ArticleDOI
Macular hole surgery with internal-limiting membrane peeling and intravitreous air.
TL;DR: It is suggested that peeling of the internal-limiting membrane is an important adjuvant for successful closure of macular holes in a series of consecutive patients.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pars plana vitrectomy without scleral buckle for pseudophakic retinal detachments.
Randy V. Campo,Jack O. Sipperley,Scott R. Sneed,Donald W. Park,Pravin U. Dugel,Jaclin Jacobsen,Richard J. Flindall +6 more
TL;DR: Primary PPV with fluid-gas exchange and laser is a safe, effective method to repair primary pseudophakic retinal detachments and the anatomic reattachment rate and the visual acuity obtained with this technique appear to be at least as good as those reported in the literature for scleral buckling,PPV with sCleral bucking, and pneumatic retinopexy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Macular pucker removal with and without internal limiting membrane peeling: pilot study
Donald W. Park,Pravin U. Dugel,Jennifer Garda,Jack O. Sipperley,Allen B. Thach,Scott R. Sneed,Jennifer Blaisdell +6 more
TL;DR: Evidence is provided that peeling of the ILM during macular pucker surgery may not have deleterious effects, and visual acuity improved or was unchanged in 79% of operated eyes without ILM peeling and 100% ofoperated eyes with ILMpeeling.
