Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of samarium (Sm) on the discharge and electrochemical behaviors of the magnesium alloy AZ80 as an anode for the Mg-air battery

TL;DR: In this article, the influence of Sm on the microstructure, electrochemical properties, and discharge performance of cast AZ80 as the anode for Mg-air battery are investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

A constitutive relation of AZ80 magnesium alloy during hot deformation based on Arrhenius and Johnson–Cook model

TL;DR: In this article, a segmented model with high prediction accuracy based on the modified Arrhenius type relation (including strain rate) and Johnson-Cook model is proposed to understand the constitutive behavior of ascast AZ80 with large grain size.
Journal ArticleDOI

The simultaneous application of variable frequency ultrasonic and low frequency electromagnetic fields in semi continuous casting of AZ80 magnesium alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the results showed that all kinds of external field treatments have their ability to refine the grain, while the combinational field represents the best efficiency in terms of grain refinement with the grain size of 116-141 mu m decreased from 679-1454 mu m in the empty set 255 mm billet.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison study of hot deformation behavior and processing map of AZ80 magnesium alloy casted with and without ultrasonic vibration

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the workability of AZ80 magnesium alloy casted with and without variablefrequency ultrasonic field (VUF), uniaxial hot compression tests were carried out in the temperature range of 523-673 K and the strain rate range of 0.001-1 s(-1).
Journal ArticleDOI

Ex-situ EBSD analysis of yield asymmetry, texture and twinning development in Mg–5Li–3Al–2Zn alloy during tensile and compressive deformation

TL;DR: In this article, the asymmetry of tension and compression, texture evolution and twinning types in extruded Mg-5Li-3Al-2Zn alloy during axial tensile and compressive deformations were studied.
