A graph labeling is an assignment of integers to the vertices or edges, or both, subject to certain conditions. Graph labelings were first introduced in the late 1960s. In the intervening years dozens of graph labelings techniques have been studied in over 1000 papers. Finding out what has been done for any particular kind of labeling and keeping up with new discoveries is difficult because of the sheer number of papers and because many of the papers have appeared in journals that are not widely available. In this survey I have collected everything I could find on graph labeling. For the convenience of the reader the survey includes a detailed table of contents and index.

Anomaly detection is an important problem with multiple applications, and thus has been studied for decades in various research domains. In the past decade there has been a growing interest in anomaly detection in data represented as networks, or graphs, largely because of their robust expressiveness and their natural ability to represent complex relationships. Originally, techniques focused on anomaly detection in static graphs, which do not change and are capable of representing only a single snapshot of data. As real-world networks are constantly changing, there has been a shift in focus to dynamic graphs, which evolve over time.

For a chordal graph G, we prove the following: (i) If m is an odd positive integer, Gm is chordal. (ii) If m is an even positive integer and if Gm is not chordal, then none of the edges of any chordless cycle of Gm is an edge of Gr, r < m.

Powers of chordal graphs

A graph $G$ is said to have a parity-linked orientation $\phi$ if every even cycle $C_{2k}$ in $G^{\phi}$ is evenly (resp. oddly) oriented whenever $k$ is even (resp. odd). In this paper, this concept is used to provide an affirmative answer to the following conjecture of D. Cui and Y. Hou [D. Cui, Y. Hou, On the skew spectra of Cartesian products of graphs, Electronic J. Combin. 20(2):#P19, 2013]: Let $G=G(X,Y)$ be a bipartite graph. Call the $X\rightarrow Y$ orientation of $G,$ the canonical orientation. Let $\phi$ be any orientation of $G$ and let $Sp_S(G^{\phi})$ and $Sp(G)$ denote respectively the skew spectrum of $G^{\phi}$ and the spectrum of $G.$ Then $Sp_S(G^{\phi}) = {\bf{i}} Sp(G)$ if and only if $\phi$ is switching-equivalent to the canonical orientation of $G.$ Using this result, we determine the switch for a special family of oriented hypercubes $Q_d^{\phi},$ $d\geq 1.$ Moreover, we give an orientation of the Cartesian product of a bipartite graph and a graph, and then determine the skew spectrum of the resulting oriented product graph, which generalizes a result of Cui and Hou. Further this can be used to construct new families of oriented graphs with maximum skew energy.
