Singular character of critical points in nuclei

TL;DR: In this paper, the concept of critical points in nuclear phase transitional regions is discussed from the standpoints of Q-invariants, simple observables and wave function entropy, and it is shown that these critical points very closely coincide with the turning points of the discussed quantities.

Nuclear Physics News

Simple interpretation of shape evolution in Pt isotopes without intruder states

TL;DR: The most commonly accepted interpretation of the light Pt isotopes invokes the coexistence and mixing with proton intruder states from above the Z = 82 shell gap as discussed by the authors, which is not the case.
