Breakdown of vibrational structure in {sup 98}Ru

TL;DR: In this paper, the YRAST Ball detectors were used to study the nucleus of the Ru isotope and reveal a structure that resembles a near harmonic vibrator spectrum up through the two-phonon triplet but show an almost complete breakdown of vibrator structure thereafter.

Deviations from axial symmetry in 181 Os

TL;DR: The experimentally determined quadrupole moment, assuming axial symmetry, is approximately 20% larger for the 7/2/1/2 band compared with the 1/2 /2/3 band as discussed by the authors, which can be understood as an effect of triaxiality.

Lifetime measurements of yrast states in 162 Yb and 166 Hf

TL;DR: In this article, lifetime measurements of yrast levels in 162Yb and 166Hf were performed using the recoil distance Doppler-shift method in coincidence mode, and the resulting B(E2) values were compared with the X(5) critical point model predictions and interacting boson approximation (IBA) model calculations.
