Journal ArticleDOI
Hidden magnetism at the pseudogap critical point of a cuprate superconductor
Mehdi Frachet,Igor Vinograd,R. Zhou,R. Zhou,Siham Benhabib,S. F. Wu,H. Mayaffre,S. Krämer,Sanath K. Ramakrishna,A. P. Reyes,Jérôme Debray,Tohru Kurosawa,Naoki Momono,Migaku Oda,Seiki Komiya,Shimpei Ono,Masafumi Horio,Johan Chang,Cyril Proust,D. LeBoeuf,Marc-Henri Julien +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the spin-glass phase of a cuprate superconducting material with high magnetic fields can survive up to a doping level consistent with p* ≈ 0.19, which provides a connection between the pseudogap and the physics of the Mott insulator.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hidden magnetism at the pseudogap critical point of a high temperature superconductor
Mehdi Frachet,Igor Vinograd,R. Zhou,Siham Benhabib,S. F. Wu,Hadrien Mayaffre,Steffen Krämer,Sanath K. Ramakrishna,A. P. Reyes,Jérôme Debray,Tohru Kurosawa,Naoki Momono,Migaku Oda,Seiki Komiya,Shimpei Ono,Masafumi Horio,Johan Chang,Cyril Proust,David Leboeuf,Marc-Henri Julien +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the genuine nature of the magnetic ground state in La2-xSrxCuO4 is hidden by competing effects from superconductivity: applying intense magnetic fields to quench superconductivities, uncover the presence of glassy antiferromagnetic order up to the pseudogap boundary p* ~ 0.19.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spin susceptibility of charge-ordered YBa2Cu3Oy across the upper critical field
R. Zhou,Michihiro Hirata,Tao Wu,Igor Vinograd,Hadrien Mayaffre,Steffen Krämer,A. P. Reyes,Philip L. Kuhns,Ruixing Liang,Walter Hardy,D. A. Bonn,D. A. Bonn,Marc-Henri Julien +12 more
TL;DR: It is found that χspin increases (most likely linearly) with magnetic field H and saturates above field values ranging from 20 T to 40 T, consistent with the lowest Hc2 values claimed previously and with the interpretation that the charge density wave (CDW) reduces Hc1 in underdoped YBa2Cu3Oy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuning the Distance to a Possible Ferromagnetic Quantum Critical Point in A 2 Cr 3 As 3
J. L. Luo,J.C. Yang,R. Zhou,Q. G. Mu,T. Liu,Zhi an Ren,Changjiang Yi,Yong Shi,Guo-Qing Zheng,Guo-Qing Zheng +9 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the A_{2}Cr_{3}As-3} family is a possible solid-state analog of superfluid He, which is the first group of Cr-based superconductors at ambient pressure, with A being alkali elements.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unusual Interplay between Superconductivity and Field-Induced Charge Order in YBa 2 Cu 3 O y
J. Kacmarcik,J. Kacmarcik,Igor Vinograd,B. Michon,B. Michon,Andreas Rydh,A. Demuer,R. Zhou,H. Mayaffre,Ruixing Liang,Ruixing Liang,Walter Hardy,Walter Hardy,D. A. Bonn,D. A. Bonn,Nicolas Doiron-Leyraud,Louis Taillefer,Louis Taillefer,Marc-Henri Julien,Christophe Marcenat,Thierry Klein +20 more
TL;DR: It is found that the DOS becomes field independent above a characteristic field H_{DOS}, and that the H_{ DOS}(T) line displays an unusual inflection near the onset of the long-range 3D charge-density wave order.
