A Silicon-Polymer Hybrid Modulator—Design, Simulation and Proof of Principle

TL;DR: In this paper, the optimal dimensions for the silicon waveguide in an electro-optic (EO) polymer cladding-based silicon modulator were found for both 1550 nm and 1310 nm wavelengths.
Journal ArticleDOI

Silica/Electro-Optic Polymer Optical Modulator With Integrated Antenna for Microwave Receiving

TL;DR: In this paper, a silica/electro-optic (EO) polymer phase modulator is proposed for microwave radiation receiver with the use of a bowtie antenna, which shows a broadband response with a maximum at 5 GHz and a 3-dB-bandwidth of approximately 12 GHz.
Journal ArticleDOI

Are stereograms holograms? A human perception analysis of sampled perspective holography

TL;DR: It is concluded that stereograms suffer from little degradation from a viewing distance larger than 2 meters, but that nearer field images can significantly benefit by adding a second order phase correction.
Journal ArticleDOI

Parametric dog-bone-shaped tunable cylindrical fluidic lens

TL;DR: In this article, a parametric approach was proposed to minimize the defocus in cylindrical tunable fluidic lenses, and the results showed that a dog-bone-shaped tunable CFI lens exhibits almost pure CFI performance within the range of 5D of astigmatism.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Complementary grating dynamics in photorefractive polymers with Alq3

TL;DR: The electron transporting molecule tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq 3 ) was introduced into a photorefractive composite in a low density to study the effects of electron traps on the performance as discussed by the authors.
