Journal ArticleDOI

The use and performance of artificial intelligence applications in dental and maxillofacial radiology: A systematic review.

TL;DR: The AI models proposed in the studies included exhibited wide clinical applications in DMFR and it is still necessary to further verify the reliability and applicability of the AI models prior to transferring these models into clinical practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Current Applications, Opportunities, and Limitations of AI for 3D Imaging in Dental Research and Practice

TL;DR: This review focuses on current developments and performance of AI for 3D imaging in dentomaxillofacial radiology (DMFR) as well as intraoral and facial scanning.
Journal ArticleDOI

Reduction of dark-band-like metal artifacts caused by dental implant bodies using hypothetical monoenergetic imaging after dual-energy computed tomography

TL;DR: DECT imaging followed by hypothetical monoenergetic image construction can cause R-DBAs and increase D-ABC and may be potentially used for the evaluation of postoperative changes in the bone encircling implant bodies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frequency, location, and association with dental pathology of mucous retention cysts in the maxillary sinus. A radiographic study using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)

TL;DR: The analysis showed that gender, age, sinus side, status of dentition, endodontic status, and periodontal status did not have a significant influence on the presence of MRCs when compared between test and control groups, and age and endodrontic status exhibited a significant association with cyst location.
