TL;DR: Reports on hepatitis E following consumption of uncooked meat from wild animals indicate a zoonotic potential of HEV, which seems to be highly prevalent in pig farms of several European countries; a first report shows that a high percentage of wild boars are also infected with HEV in Germany.
