Journal ArticleDOI

Preparation and Reactions of Base-Free Bis(1,2,4-tri-tert-butylcyclopentadienyl)uranium Oxide, Cp‘2UO

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the double-bond resonance structure of Cp 2U+−O- dominates the polar resonance structure Cp 1.5U+O−O.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrogen for fluorine exchange in C6F6 and C6F5H by monomeric [1,3,4-(Me3C)3C5H2]2CeH: experimental and computational studies.

TL;DR: DFT(B3PW91) calculations have been carried out to examine several reaction paths that involve CH and CF bond activation, and show that the CH activation by Cp(2)CeH proceeds with a low barrier.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coordination of 2,2'-bipyridyl and 1,10-phenanthroline to substituted ytterbocenes: An experimental investigation of spin coupling in lanthanide complexes

TL;DR: In this article, an electron exchange model for spin coupling between Yb(III), with electron configuration 4f13, and the single unpaired electron in the bipyridyl radical anion was presented, based on comparison with the iodide salt [(Me5C5)2YbIII(bipy0)]+[I]-.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electron-transfer reactions of trivalent uranium. Preparation and structure of the uranium metallocene compounds (MeC5H4)3U:NPh and [(MeC5H4)3U]2[.mu.-.eta.1,.eta.2-PhNCO]

TL;DR: In this paper, the chemical preparation of the isocyanate (1) and imide (2) complexes is described, and the most important structural feature of 2 is the presence of the imido functional group with a U-N distance of 2.019 (6) A and a U -N-C angle of 167.4 (6)/sup 0/.
Journal ArticleDOI

Divalent lanthanide chemistry. Bis (pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) europium(II) and -ytterbium(II) derivatives: crystal structure of bis (pentamethylcyclopentadienyl) (tetrahydrofuran ytterbium(II) -hemitoluene at 176 K

TL;DR: TetraHYDROFURAN T, Don Tilley, Helen a Ruben,, Brock Spencer, David H. Templeton as mentioned in this paper, and Brock Spencer published a two-week loan copy of the book.
