SWIRE: The SIRTF Wide-area InfraRed Extragalactic Survey
Carol J. Lonsdale,Harding E. Smith,M. Rowan-Robinson,Jason Surace,David L. Shupe,Cong Xu,Seb Oliver,Deborah Padgett,Fan Fang,Alberto Franceschini,Nick Gautier,Matthew Joseph Griffin,Frank J. Masci,Glenn Morrison,JoAnn O'Linger,Ismael Perez-Fournon,Marguerite Pierre,Richard C. Puetter,Gordon J. Stacey +18 more
TL;DR: The SIRTF Wide-area InfraRed Extragalactic Survey (SWIRE) as discussed by the authors is the largest survey to date to trace the evolution of galaxies, star-forming galaxies, evolved stellar populations, and AGN.
Journal ArticleDOI
Digital Image Reconstruction: Deblurring and Denoising
TL;DR: A review of image reconstruction methods can be found in this paper, where the most reliable reconstruction is the most conservative one, which seeks the simplest underlying image consistent with the input data.
Journal ArticleDOI
Infrared spectra of protostars : composition of the dust shells.
S. P. Willner,F. C. Gillett,T.L. Herter,Bernard J. T. Jones,J. Krassner,K. M. Merrill,J.L. Pipher,Richard C. Puetter,R. J. Rudy,R. W. Russell,B. T. Soifer +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, nearly complete 2 to 13 micron spectra are presented for 13 compact infrared sources associated with molecular clouds, along with partial spectra of six additional objects, and a good correlation between the deepest part of the absorption at 3.1 microns, its long wavelength wing, and the 6.0 micron features suggests that all may derive from large amorphous water ice particles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bayesian image reconstruction - The pixon and optimal image modeling
R. K. Piña,Richard C. Puetter +1 more
TL;DR: It is shown how an optimal basis for image representation can be selected and in doing so, the concept of the "pixon" which is a generalized image cell from which this basis is constructed is developed.
Journal ArticleDOI
VARIABILITY OF DISK EMISSION IN PRE-MAIN-SEQUENCE AND RELATED STARS. I. HD 31648 AND HD 163296 : ISOLATED HERBIG Ae STARS DRIVING HERBIG-HARO FLOWS
Michael L. Sitko,Michael L. Sitko,Michael L. Sitko,W. J. Carpenter,R. L. Kimes,J. Leon Wilde,David K. Lynch,David K. Lynch,Ray W. Russell,Ray W. Russell,Richard J. Rudy,S. M. Mazuk,Catherine C. Venturini,Richard C. Puetter,Carol A. Grady,Elisha Polomski,Elisha Polomski,John P. Wisnewski,S. M. Brafford,H. B. Hammel,R. Brad Perry +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, infrared photometry and spectroscopy covering a time span of a quarter century are presented for isolated Herbig Ae stars that exhibit signs of active accretion, including driving bipolar flows with embedded Herbig-Haro (HH) objects.
