The effect of confinement in nanoporous polymers on the glass transition temperature
TL;DR: In this article, the glass transition temperature (Tg) of nanoporous polyetherimide (PEI) and PEI thin films was investigated and Monte Carlo simulations were performed to calculate the nearest neighbor pore-to-pore distances in the nanoporous PEI.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells on nano- and micro-grain size titania
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that biomaterial substrate topography, such as ceramic grain size, affects mesenchymal stem cell differentiation in a size-dependent but, non-linear, manner.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atomic-Defect Mechanisms for Diffusion in Refractory BCC Metals
Journal ArticleDOI
Pore structure and glass transition temperature of nanoporous poly(ether imide)
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of nanopores on the glass transition temperature (Tg) of poly(ether imide) was studied with differential scanning calorimetry, and the pore size was found to depend on the processing time and the initial blend composition, mainly because of phase-coarsening kinetics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Selective characterization of proteins on nanoscale concave surfaces.
TL;DR: This work has developed a novel and facile method to address the issue of selective desorbing proteins on the external surfaces of hollow gold nanocages (AuNG), allowing the selective characterization of retained proteins immobilized on their internal concave surfaces.
