In vitro antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of three Malaysian sea cucumber species
Osama Yousef Althunibat,Ridzwan Hashim,M. Taher Bakhtiar,Jamaludin Mohd. Daud,Masa-Aki Ikeda,Zali Ibrahim +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of aqueous and organic extracts from three sea cucumber species Holothuria scabra, holothuria leucospilota and Stichopus chloronotus were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fatty acid profiles of fin fish in Langkawi Island, Malaysia.
TL;DR: All fish showed a considerable amount of uns saturated fatty acids particularly those with 4, 5 and 6 double bonds, and two physiologically important n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) made up of more than 50% of the total PUFAs were determined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Baccaurea angulata fruit inhibits lipid peroxidation and induces the increase in antioxidant enzyme activities
Maryam Abimbola Mikail,Idris Adewale Ahmed,Muhammad Ibrahim,Norazlanshah Hazali,Mohammad Syaiful Bahari Abdul Rasad,Radiah Abdul Ghani,Ridzwan Hashim,Ridhwan Abdul Wahab,Solachuddin Jahuari Arief,Muhammad Lokman Isa,Samsul Draman,Mohammad Noor Adros Yahya +11 more
TL;DR: The results show that B. angulata fruit is beneficial in positively influencing and managing oxidative damage in rabbits fed high-cholesterol diet and had high antioxidant activities.
Journal Article
An update on diversity of sea cucumber (Echinodermata: Holothuroidea) in Malaysia
TL;DR: Molecular approaches are capable of providing insights into the phylogeny of sea cucumbers and can support the outcomes of traditional morphological approaches, and a number of molecular ecological studies have been recorded in Malaysia since 1999.
Journal ArticleDOI
