Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of vasodilator therapy on mortality in chronic congestive heart failure. Results of a Veterans Administration Cooperative Study.

TL;DR: The data suggest that the addition of hydralazine and isosorbide dinitrate to the therapeutic regimen of digoxin and diuretics in patients with chronic congestive heart failure can have a favorable effect on left ventricular function and mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of short-term infusion of sodium nitroprusside on mortality rate in acute myocardial infarction complicated by left ventricular failure: results of a Veterans Administration cooperative study.

TL;DR: The results in the patients given late treatment suggest that those with persistent pump failure might receive sustained benefit from short-term nitroprusside therapy, and should probably not be used routinely in patients with high left ventricular filling pressures after acute myocardial infarction.
Journal ArticleDOI

A method for modifying the image quality parameters of digital radiographic images.

TL;DR: The findings indicate that the developed modification routines provide a good means of simulating the resolution and noise characteristics of digital radiographic systems for optimization or processing purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Getting More Performance from Performance Measurement

TL;DR: Under today's performance-measurement paradigm, too many resources are invested in assessing too many activities that may not have major effects on patients' health.
