Journal ArticleDOI

Length of Barrett's oesophagus: an important factor in the development of dysplasia and adenocarcinoma.

TL;DR: Length of columnar lined oesophagus seems to be a significant risk factor in the development of dysplasia and subsequent carcinoma and intensive follow up of patients with columnarlined oesphagus greater than 8 cm in length is recommended.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spindle Orientation Bias in Gut Epithelial Stem Cell Compartments Is Lost in Precancerous Tissue

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate alignment of mitotic spindles perpendicular to the apical surface specifically in the stem cell compartments of mouse and human intestine and colon and suggest that loss of asymmetric division in stem cells might contribute to the oncogenic effect of Apc mutations in gut epithelium.
Journal ArticleDOI
