Journal ArticleDOI

Endothelial glycocalyx shedding and vascular permeability in severely injured trauma patients

TL;DR: Glycocalyx components were shed more in trauma patients compared to healthy controls in this cohort of trauma patients, and data suggest that low plasma COP correlates well to glycocalyx degradation and thrombin loss following trauma, which consequently affect permeability and coagulation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Low bone density and high percentage of body fat among men who were treated with androgen deprivation therapy for prostate carcinoma.

TL;DR: The prevalence and magnitude of low bone density and obesity among men with prostate carcinoma who were treated with androgen deprivation therapy who were examined in a case–control study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of donor, component, and recipient characteristics on hemoglobin increments following red blood cell transfusion.

TL;DR: Donor and recipient sex, Rh-D status, collection method, gamma irradiation, recipient age and body mass index, and pre-transfusion hemoglobin levels were significant predictors of hemoglobin increments in univariate and multivariable analyses.
