Journal ArticleDOI

One-pot synthesis of quinolin-2-(1H)-ones via tandem Ugi-Knoevenagel condensations

TL;DR: In this paper, a new application of the Ugi reaction in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds is described, where substituted quinolin-2-(1H)-ones are formed in one-pot sequential Ugi four-component condensation and intramolecular Knoevenagel cyclization between o-acylanilines, aldehydes, malonic or tosylacetic acids and cyclohexyl isocyanide.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Facile Synthesis of β-Lactams Based on the Isocyanide Chemistry

TL;DR: The reaction between (E )-cinnamaldehyde (1), chloroacetic acid (2), cyclohexyl isocyanide (3), and amines 4 afforded the expected Ugi 4-CC products as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

A facile synthesis of 2,5-diketopiperazines based on isocyanide chemistry

TL;DR: The Ugi 4-component condensation (4-CC) between amines, aromatic aldehydes, chloroacetic acid and isocyanides was studied in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on isocyanides: synthesis of tetrazolyl-isoindolinones via tandem Ugi four-component condensation/intramolecular amidation

TL;DR: The Ugi four-component condensation between methyl o-formylbenzoates, anilines, isocyanides, and trimethylsilyl azide (4) gave the expected Ugi adducts, which were cyclized to the title compounds 6a-d upon treatment with sodium ethoxide in ethanol as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on Isocyanides and Related Compounds: A Novel Synthetic Route to Furan Derivatives

TL;DR: The Passerini reaction between arylglyoxals, isocyanides, and cyanoacetic acid affords N-substituted 3-aryl-2-cyanoacetoxy-3-oxopropionamides.
