The magnetic excitation spectrum and thermodynamics of high-Tc superconductors
Pengcheng Dai,Herbert A. Mook,Stephen M Hayden,Gabriel Aeppli,Toby Perring,Rodney D. Hunt,Fatih Dogan +6 more
TL;DR: Inelastic neutron scattering was used to study the wave vector- and frequency-dependent magnetic fluctuations in single crystals of superconducting YBa2Cu3O6+x, and the appearance of the pseudogap determined from transport and nuclear resonance coincides with formation of the resonance in the magnetic excitations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution of the resonance and incommensurate spin fluctuations in superconducting YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6+x)
TL;DR: In this paper, the doping dependence of the spin gap in the superconducting state, the resonance energy, and the incommensurability of spin fluctuations was established for the bilayer superconductor YBa(2)Cu(3)O(6+x).
Journal ArticleDOI
Room Temperature Ionic Liquids for Separating Organics from Produced Water
TL;DR: The distribution of polar organic compounds typical of water contaminants (organic acids, alcohols, and aromatic compounds) associated with oil and gas production was measured between water and nine hydrophobic, room-temperature ionic liquids.
Journal ArticleDOI
One-dimensional nature of the magnetic fluctuations in YBa2Cu3O6.6
TL;DR: It is shown here that this apparent two-dimensionality results from measurements on twinned crystals, and that similar measurements on substantially detwinned crystals of YBa2Cu3O6.6 reveal the one-dimensional character of the magnetic fluctuations, thus greatly strengthening the striped-phase interpretation.
Journal ArticleDOI
One-dimensional nature of the magnetic fluctuations in YBa$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{6.6}$
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the magnetic fluctuations associated with a striped phase are expected to be one-dimensional, whereas magnetic fluctuations observed to date appear to display two-dimensional symmetry.
