Journal ArticleDOI

Properties of bacteriophage PM2: A lipid-containing bacterial virus

TL;DR: This virus isolated from seawater is shown to contain lipids by its sensitivity to ethyl ether and by chemical analysis of the purified virus, showing the presence of at least two proteins, probably lipoproteins since they can be stained with Black Sudan.
Journal Article

Etiology of acute diarrhoea among children in developing countries: a multicentre study in five countries.

TL;DR: The results suggest that microbe-specific intervention strategies for the control of childhood diarrhoeal diseases in developing countries should focus on rotavirus, Shigella spp.
Journal ArticleDOI

Determination of molecular phylogenetics of Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains by multilocus sequence typing

TL;DR: The data reported in this study indicate that V. parahaemolyticus is genetically diverse with a semiclonal population structure and an epidemic structure similar to that of Vibrio cholerae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural polypeptides of simian rotavirus SA11 and the effect of trypsin.

TL;DR: Analysis of purified simian rotavirus has shown that it contains fewer structural polypeptide classes than previously reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA of bacteriophage PM2: a closed circular double-stranded molecule.

TL;DR: The DNA molecules isolated from mature bacteriophage PM2 are closed double-stranded rings of a molecular weight of six million and only the four common nucleotides are found after hydrolysis and chromatographic analysis of PM2 DNA.
