Risk-behaviour screening for identifying adolescents with mental health problems in Europe
Michael Kaess,Romuald Brunner,Peter Parzer,Vladimir Carli,Alan Apter,Judit Balazs,Julio Bobes,Horia Coman,Doina Cosman,Padraig Cotter,Tony Durkee,Luca Farkas,Dana Feldman,Christian Haring,Miriam Iosue,Jean-Pierre Kahn,Helen Keeley,Tina Podlogar,Vita Postuvan,Franz Resch,Pilar A. Saiz,Merike Sisask,Alexandra Tubiana,Peeter Värnik,Marco Sarchiapone,Christina W. Hoven,Danuta Wasserman +26 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a two-stage professional screening approach was developed and performed within the multi-centre study "Saving and Empowering Young Lives in Europe" (SEYLE), which included variables on both a broad range of risk-behaviours and psychopathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Initial orienting to emotional faces in female adolescents with borderline personality disorder.
Ina-Alexandra von Ceumern-Lindenstjerna,Romuald Brunner,Peter Parzer,Christoph Mundt,Peter Fiedler,Franz Resch +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that attentional orienting to negative faces is not specific to adolescent patients with BPD but also affects adolescents patients with other psychiatric diagnoses, and that BPD is specifically associated with distortions in initial orienting processes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Childhood behavioral inhibition and maternal symptoms of depression.
Eva Moehler,Jerome Kagan,Peter Parzer,Romuald Brunner,Corinna Reck,Angelika Wiebel,Luise Poustka,Franz Resch +7 more
TL;DR: Even maternal depression not reaching the level of clinical diagnosis and treatment has an impact on child behavioral development, and maternal depressive symptoms assessed by the revised 90-item Symptom Checklist at 6 weeks, 4 and 14 months were found to be related to child inhibition.
Journal ArticleDOI
Developmental trajectories of self-injurious behavior, suicidal behavior and substance misuse and their association with adolescent borderline personality pathology
Orit Nakar,Romuald Brunner,Oliver Schilling,Andrew M. Chanen,Gloria Fischer,Peter Parzer,Vladimir Carli,Vladimir Carli,Danuta Wasserman,Marco Sarchiapone,Camilla Wasserman,Christina W. Hoven,Franz Resch,Michael Kaess +13 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate a similar pattern of reduction over time between SIB and SB for the high-risk trajectories, whereas thehigh- risk trajectories for SM show a pattern of increase over time, which might represent early indicators of risk supporting potential early detection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, childhood adversity and adolescent nonsuicidal self-injury
Corinna Reichl,Anne Heyer,Romuald Brunner,Peter Parzer,Julia Madeleine Völker,Franz Resch,Michael Kaess +6 more
TL;DR: The findings indicate that adolescents engaging in NSSI may exhibit a stronger cortisol awakening response, potentially in expectation of strain, however, elevated cortisol levels may not be maintained throughout the day, especially among adolescents with a history of CA.
