Organisational Change and the Institutionalisation of University Patenting Activity in Italy

TL;DR: In this paper, the diffusion and evolution of regulations and practices in university patenting activities in Italy are modeled using a neo-institutional perspective, and it is shown that in environments characterized by high levels of centralization (i.e., Italy), once each university was allowed to define modes and rules for its own activities, they searched locally, adopting mimetic behaviours, replicating the practices of the most prestigious and visible academic institutions.

Effectuation and Causation in Science-based New Venture Creation: A Configurational Approach

TL;DR: This article explored the antecedent factors of the approach that science-based entrepreneurs follow in new venture creation using data from PSED II and a QCA approach, identifying two configurations of antecedENT factors relevant for sciencebased founders to successfully launch their ventures, and two for nonscience-based founders.
