Journal ArticleDOI
A study of the tautomerism of β-dicarbonyl compounds with special emphasis on curcuminoids
TL;DR: In this paper, six β-diketones related to curcumin were studied by 13C NMR spectroscopy in chloroform in order to determine the equilibrium constant between the two keto/enol tautomers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photophysics of the 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl)perimidine: On the fluorescence of the enol form
TL;DR: The photophysical properties of 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl)perimidine (6) have been investigated in this paper, showing that the involvement of a light-induced excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) process in which the phenolic proton is transferred from the enol form to the neighbouring nitrogen atom is less important for conferring photostability than has hitherto been supposed for such type of systems.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acidity and Basicity of Indazole and its N-Methyl Derivatives in the Ground and in the Excited State
Javier Catalán,Juan Carlos del Valle,Rosa M. Claramunt,Gérard Boyer,José Laynez,Javier Gómez,Pilar Jiménez,Francisco Tomás,José Elguero +8 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Basicity of C-substituted pyrazoles in the gas phase : an experimental (ICR) and theoretical study
José-Luis M. Abboud,Pilar Cabildo,T. Canada,Javier Catalán,Rosa M. Claramunt,J. L. G. De Paz,J. Elguero,H. Homan,Rafael Notario +8 more
TL;DR: The experimental gas-phase proton affinities (PAs) of 32 N-H and N-methyl pyrazoles have been determined by means of Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance spectrosccopy (FTICR).
Journal ArticleDOI
Enthalpies of Formation of N-Substituted Pyrazoles and Imidazoles
Otilia Mó,Manuel Yáñez,María Victoria Roux,Pilar Jiménez,Juan Z. Dávalos,Manuel A.V. Ribeiro da Silva,Maria D.M.C. Ribeiro da Silva,M. Agostinha R. Matos,Luísa M.P.F. Amaral,Ana Sánchez-Migallón,Pilar Cabildo,Rosa M. Claramunt,José Elguero,Joel F. Liebman +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the enthalpies of formation measured using static bomb combustion calorimetry, the “vacuum sublimation” drop-calorimetric method, and the Knudsen-effusion method are reported for the first time for four azoles: 1-methylimidazole (1MeIMI), 1-methylpyrazole(1MePYR), 1-(1-benzyl pyrazole) (1BnPYR).
