Journal ArticleDOI

Cholecystokinin and vasoactive intestinal peptide in brain and gut of the hypothyroid neonatal rat.

TL;DR: Since VIP but not CCK concentrations in the gut of MMI-treated animals were significantly greater than those of the control animals, it would appear that there was greater loss of mucosal tissue with its endocrine content of CCK than of neurons with its greater content of VIP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunologic potency of recombined A- and B-chains of synthetic human and pancreatic pork insulins.

TL;DR: Pork insulin recombined from cleaved A-and B-chains of pancreatic insulin was shown to be identical with the pancreatic hormone both in EHR assays and in immunoassays employing four different antisera, including two species-specific human anti-insulin sera as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Degradation of the 34 amino acid gastrin by rat tissue homogenates.

TL;DR: These findings are consistent with in vivo studies which have demonstrated that the dog kidney is an important site for extraction and degradation of endogenous dog gastrin but there is little or no hepatic removal of G34.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunoreactive glucagons purified from dog pancreas, stomach and ileum.

TL;DR: Purification and sequence analysis of the different tissue glucagons show that dog pancreas and stomach mucosa contain glucagon-29 while ileum mucosa contains glucagons-37 and glucose-69.
