Impact of Retrograde Arch Extension in Acute Type B Aortic Dissection on Management and Outcomes
Foeke J. H. Nauta,Foeke J. H. Nauta,Jip L. Tolenaar,Himanshu J. Patel,Jehangir J. Appoo,Thomas T. Tsai,Nimesh D. Desai,Daniel G. Montgomery,Firas F. Mussa,Gilbert R. Upchurch,Rosella Fattori,G. Chad Hughes,Christoph A. Nienaber,Eric M. Isselbacher,Kim A. Eagle,Santi Trimarchi +15 more
TL;DR: The incidence of retrograde arch dissection involves approximately 16% of patients with acute type B dissection, and this entity seems not to affect management strategy or early and late death in the International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Acute limb ischemia associated with type B aortic dissection: clinical relevance and therapy.
Peter K. Henke,David M. Williams,Gilbert R. Upchurch,Mary C. Proctor,Jeanna V. Cooper,Jianming Fang,Christoph A. Nienaber,Eric M. Isselbacher,Rosella Fattori,Nara L. Dasika,Joesph Gemmete,James C. Stanley,Thomas W. Wakefield,Kim A. Eagle +13 more
TL;DR: ALI secondary to AoD is predictive of death and visceral ischemia, and endovascular therapy confers excellent limb salvage and allows diagnosis of unsuspected visceral isChemia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Painless Type B Aortic Dissection: Insights From the International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection
Jip L. Tolenaar,Stuart Hutchison,Dan Montgomery,Patrick T. O'Gara,Rosella Fattori,Reed E. Pyeritz,Linda Pape,Toru Suzuki,Arturo Evangelista,Frans L. Moll,Vincenzo Rampoldi,Eric M. Isselbacher,C.A. Nienaber,Kim A. Eagle,Santi Trimarchi +14 more
TL;DR: There is a trend for increased in-hospital mortality in painless TBAAD patients, which may be the result of a delay in diagnosis and management, and physicians should be aware of this relative rare presentation of TBAAD.
Journal ArticleDOI
