Modelling of mixture preparation in a small engine with port fuel injection
T.N.C. Anand,RV Ravikrishna +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed computational fluid dynamics simulations to study mixture preparation in the intake manifold of a small engine with port fuel injection and found improved in-cylinder fuel distribution when the spray is directed onto the intake valve.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of novel scaling criteria on a reverse-flow combustor
Santanu Pramanik,RV Ravikrishna +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the scaling of a 33kW laboratory scale combustor to 25kW using Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) with detailed chemistry has been investigated, and two novel scaling criteria, namely, constant volume to jet momentum ratio (CM) and constant volume-to-jung kinetic energy ratio (CK), have been introduced and applied to the 33-kW combustor.
Journal ArticleDOI
A study on the extinction condition in counterflow diffusion flames of methane and LPG under the influence of polydisperse water mist
Pabitra Badhuk,RV Ravikrishna +1 more
TL;DR: In this article , the extinction condition in methane and LPG (mixture of propane and n-butane) flames under the influence of polydisperse water mist is investigated in a counterflow configuration.
Journal ArticleDOI
Concentration Measurements in a Mixing Module for Lean, Premixed, Gas-Turbine Combustors
Experimental spray characterisation of air-assisted impinging jets
TL;DR: In this article, an air-assisted impinging jet atomizer has been utilised and its spray characteristics have been studied at various conditions, using water as the liquid and nitrogen as the atomizing gas.
