Journal ArticleDOI

Micro cell culture method for determination of diphtheria toxin and antitoxin titres using VERO cells: I. Studies on factors affecting the toxin and antitoxin titration

TL;DR: It was concluded that the working crude toxins may be used for the antitoxin titration in the present micro cell culture method and the MCD values obtained were almost identical to the minimal reactive dose (MRD) as determined by the rabbit skin test.
Journal ArticleDOI

Micro cell culture method for determination of diphtheria toxin and antitoxin titres using VERO cells. II. Comparison with the rabbit skin method and practical application for seroepidemiological studies.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the micro cell culture colour change method using VERO cells is a highly recommended procedure for diphtheria toxin and antitoxin determinations because of its sensitivity, reproducibility and economy of time, labour and materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Purification and characterization of an antihemorrhagic factor in the serum of Trimeresurus flavoviridis, a crotalid.

TL;DR: The purified serum factor inhibited the two immunologically distinct hemorhagic principles in the venom of this snake and antihemorrhagic activities against HR1 and HR2 increased simultaneously during purification, resulting in a 21-fold increase in specific activity.
