The present invention relates to a new use of lignan-type compounds or an extract of nutmeg or aril of nutmeg comprising the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition for skin whitening comprising a lignan-type compound or an extract of nutmeg or aril of nutmeg comprising the same. Because the lignan compound represented by Chemical Formulas 1 to 3 or the extract of nutmeg or aril of nutmeg has superior skin whitening activity by inhibiting melanin production and tyrosinase activity, it can be used for the preparation of a cosmetic composition, food composition or pharmaceutical composition for skin whitening.

A plurality of photomasks used to manufacture the same semiconductor device, each of the photomasks having a plurality of mutually replaceable unit regions set therein, are inspected to detect a defect. It is determined whether or not the detected defect has a redundancy defect positioned in a unit region replaceable with another unit region to remedy the photomask. Then, when inspecting the second or subsequent photomask, a unit region including the coordinate of a redundancy defect detected in another photomask inspected previously is set to be a non-inspection region, and the non-inspection region is not inspected.

External preparation composition

PURPOSE: To obtain an external preparation of skin whitening which comprises a mixture of sesamol and tocopherol at a specific ratio, thus contains a tyrosinase inhibitor and shows excellent safety and stability with the passage of time. CONSTITUTION: This preparation contains sesamol of the formula and tocopherol at a weight ratio of (0.1-10)/(10-0.1) as a tyrosinase inhibitor. The sesamol and tocopherol are extracts from sesame and the amount of these mixture is adjusted to less than 50%, in the sesame extract. Sesamol is a white crystal having a phenolic smell, obtained by hydrolysis of sesamolin, a lignan derivative. Its chemical structure is oxyhydroquinone monomethyl ether, one of unique components to sesame oil. Tocopherol is the general nomenclature of dimethyl- or methyltocols having vitamin E activity, yellow oily liquid distributing in wheat embryonic oil, cotton seed oil, ground nut oil and sesame oil. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photomask forming device in which a pattern indicating the applicable region and the non-applicable region of a redundant circuit is formed on a photomask and whether the redundant circuit is applicable or not to a defect position caused on the photomask can be decided during photomask inspection, and a photomask inspection device. SOLUTION: A photomask is formed by combining a mask pattern and a SRAF (sub-resolution assist feature) pattern indicating the applicable region/non-applicable region of a redundant circuit in the mask forming device 100, which enables a mask inspection process to decide whether the redundant circuit is applicable or not, the decision conventionally carried out by a person.
