Measurements of Losses and Reynolds Stresses in the Secondary Flow Downstream of a Low-Speed Linear Turbine Cascade
TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of turbulence on the production of secondary losses is examined in a low-speed linear turbine cascade and the importance of the Reynolds shear stress to this process is explored in detail.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aerodynamics of a Low-Pressure Turbine Airfoil at Low Reynolds Numbers—Part I: Steady Flow Measurements
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed experimental investigation of the laminar separation and transition phenomena on the suction surface of a high-lift low-pressure (LP) turbine airfoil, PakB, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Aerodynamics of a low-pressure turbine airfoil at low reynolds numbers-part ii: Blade-wake interaction
Ali Mahallati,S. A. Sjolander +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the aerodynamic behavior of the same airfoil under the influence of incoming wakes is presented, where the wake-induced transition caused the separated boundary layer to reattach to the suction surface at all conditions examined.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Hot-Film Measurements of Boundary Layer Transition, Separartion and Reattachment on a Low-Pressure Turbine Airfoil at Low Reynolds Numbers
Journal ArticleDOI
Application of Endwall Contouring to Transonic Turbine Cascades: Experimental Measurements at Design Conditions
TL;DR: In this article, an experimental investigation of the endwall flows in two transonic linear turbine cascades was presented at the 2010 ASME Turbo Expo (GT2010-22760). Endwall contouring was subsequently implemented in these cascades to control the secondary flows, and reduce the total pressure losses.
