Journal ArticleDOI
Cosmic chronometers: constraining the equation of state of dark energy. I: H(z) measurements
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented new determinations of the cosmic expansion history from red-envelope galaxies using the Keck-LRIS spectrograph of 24 galaxy clusters in the redshift range 0.2 < z < 1.0.
Journal ArticleDOI

Schurr,Nick Scoville,Robert A. Simcoe,Karl R. Stapelfeldt,Daniel Stern,N. Stock,William D. Vacca +39 more
TL;DR: In this article, Cushing et al. presented ground-based spectroscopic verification of six Y dwarfs, eightynine T dwarfs and eight L dwarfs with spectral types greater than or equal to T6.
Journal ArticleDOI
K-Band Properties of Galaxy Clusters and Groups: Luminosity Function, Radial Distribution, and Halo Occupation Number
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore the near-infrared (NIR) K-band properties of galaxies within 93 galaxy clusters and groups using data from the Two Micron All Sky Survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mid-Infrared Selection of Active Galactic Nuclei with the Wide-Field Infrared Survey Explorer. II. Properties of WISE-Selected Active Galactic Nuclei in the NDWFS Bo\"otes Field
Roberto J. Assef,Daniel Stern,Christopher S. Kochanek,Andrew Blain,Mark Brodwin,Michael J. I. Brown,Emilio Donoso,Peter Eisenhardt,Buell T. Jannuzi,Thomas H. Jarrett,S. Adam Stanford,Chao-Wei Tsai,Jingwen Wu,Lin Yan +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, a modified color-magnitude cut was proposed to combine the W1-W2 color and the W2 magnitude to provide highly reliable or highly complete AGN samples for fainter WISE sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Near-Infrared Properties of Galaxy Clusters: Luminosity as a Binding Mass Predictor and the State of Cluster Baryons
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explore the near-infrared properties of galaxies within 27 galaxy clusters using data from the Two Micron All Sky Survey (2MASS) and find that the K-band luminosity is correlated with cluster mass, providing a binding mass estimate accurate to 45%.
