Spooner,W. G. Thompson,Liang Yang,S.H. Yong +49 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the COSINE-100 experiment was used to determine whether there is evidence for an excess of events above the expected background in sodium iodide and to look for evidence of an annual modulation.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report results from the initial operation of the COSINE-100 experiment, which uses sodium iodide as the target medium and is designed to carry out a model independent test of DAMA's claim.

Thompson,Liang Yang,S.H. Yong +48 more
TL;DR: To understand measured backgrounds in the NaI(Tl) crystals, Monte Carlo simulations using the Geant4 toolkit are performed and background models for each crystal are developed that consider contributions from both internal and external sources, including cosmogenic nuclides.
