Journal ArticleDOI
International Evaluation of Neutron Cross Section Standards
Allan D. Carlson,V.G. Pronyaev,David Livingstone Smith,Nancy M. Larson,Zhenpeng Chen,Gerald M. Hale,Franz-Josef Hambsch,E V. Gai,Soo-Youl Oh,S.A. Badikov,Toshihiko Kawano,Hartmut M. Hofmann,H. Vonach,S. Tagesen +13 more
TL;DR: The need to re-evaluate the cross section standards is based on the appearance of a significant amount of precise experimental data and improved developments in the methodology of analysis and evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI
New Work on Updating and Extending the Nuclear Data Standards
Allan D. Carlson,V.G. Pronyaev,Roberto Capote,F-J Hambsch,F. Käppeler,C. Lederer,W. Mannhart,Alberto Mengoni,Ronald O. Nelson,Peter Schillebeeckx,Patrick Talou,S. Tagesen,H. Vonach,A. Vorobyev,Anton Wallner +14 more
TL;DR: It was decided that this Project should have a broader range of activities than just the cross section standards and thus encompass standards related activities, and the following are being investigated: improvements in the gold cross section at energies below where it is considered a standard and work on certain cross sections that could be very useful as reference cross sections relative to which certain types of cross section measurements can be made.

An International Evaluation of the Neutron Cross Section Standards
Allan D. Carlson,S.A. Badikov,Zhenpeng Chen,E V. Gai,Gerald M. Hale,F-J Hambsch,Hartmut M. Hofmann,Toshihiko Kawano,Nancy M. Larson,Soo-Youl Oh,V.G. Pronyaev,D.L. Smith,S. Tagesen,H. Vonach +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present results of an international evaluation of the neutron cross section standards, which include the H(n,n), 3He(n),p), 6Li (n,t), 10B,α, 10B n,α 1γ, 197Au,γ, 235U,n,f, and 238U n,f.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvements and extensions of the neutron cross section and fluence standards
Allan D. Carlson,V.G. Pronyaev,Roberto Capote,F.-J. Hambsch,F. Käppeler,C. Lederer,C. Lederer,W. Mannhart,Alberto Mengoni,R. O. Nelson,A. J. M. Plompen,Peter Schillebeeckx,S. Simakov,Patrick Talou,S. Tagesen,H. Vonach,A. Vorobyev,Anton Wallner,Anton Wallner +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the IAEA Data Development Project (DDP) has been used to improve the nuclear data standards, extending the energy ranges of some standards, and reference data that are not as well known as the standards but can be very useful in the measurements of certain types of cross sections.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Status of the International Neutron Cross‐Section Standards File
V.G. Pronyaev,Sergei A. Badikov,Chen Zhenpeng,Allan D. Carlson,E V. Gai,Gerald M. Hale,Franz-Josef Hambsch,Hartmut M. Hofmann,Nancy M. Larson,Donald L. Smith,Soo-Youl Oh,S. Tagesen,H. Vonach +12 more
TL;DR: The major results achieved include the testing and intercomparison of a number of codes that can be used in the standards evaluation, updating the database of experimental results, analysis of the reasons leading to the strong uncertainty reduction in model fits, and a study of the bias in evaluated data caused by the Peelles’s P...
