Integrable microwave filter based on a photonic crystal delay line

TL;DR: Owing to the very small footprint of the delay line, a fully integrated device is feasible, also featuring more complex and elaborate filter functions, and both notch and band-pass microwave filters that can be tuned over the 0-50-GHz spectral band are demonstrated.

40 Gb/s wavelength division demultiplexing with a PhC filter

TL;DR: In this article, a photonic crystal filter intended for demultiplexing in the wavelength division domain was designed and fabricated, and the total insertion losses are about 12dB and channel isolation can exceed 25dB.
Proceedings Article

Slow light devices in III–V photonic crystals: state of the art and open issues

TL;DR: In this article, the properties of photonic crystals in III-V materials from the prospective of light-matter interaction enhanced by slow-light are discussed, namely the generation of a time delay and the nonlinear conversion.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Efficient second harmonic generation in photonic crystal waveguides for optical performance monitoring in the full C-band at 42.5 Gb/s

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate 20 μW second harmonic generation in a photonic crystal waveguide, and the collected signal has been used for optical performance monitoring of the chromatic dispersion and optical signal to noise ratio of a 42.5 Gb/s Return to Zero signal all over the C-band.
