Transcatheter Mitral-Valve Repair in Patients with Heart Failure.

TL;DR: Among patients with heart failure and moderate‐to‐severe or severe secondary mitral regurgitation who remained symptomatic despite the use of maximal doses of guideline‐directed medical therapy, transcatheter mitral‐valve repair resulted in a lower rate of hospitalization forHeart failure and lower all‐cause mortality within 24 months of follow‐up than medical therapy alone.

Safety of Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Closure Results From the Watchman Left Atrial Appendage System for Embolic Protection in Patients With AF (PROTECT AF) Clinical Trial and the Continued Access Registry

TL;DR: There is a significant improvement in the safety of Watchman left atrial appendage closure with increased operator experience, and the functional impact of these safety events, as defined by significant disability or death, was statistically superior in the Watchman group compared with the warfarin group in PROTECT AF.
