Analysis of spatial patterns in buildings (access analysis) as an insight into social structure: examples from the Scottish Atlantic Iron Age

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe an archaeological application of access analysis, a means of investigating the relationship between spatial order and society, which is a technique based on the gamma analysis of Hillier & Hanson (1984), which looks at the patterns of relations between inhabitants and between inhabitants, as they are reflected in the use of interior space, in terms of the patterns created by boundaries and entrances.

Claish, stirling: an early Neolithic structure in its context

TL;DR: In this article, the excavation of a long timber-built structure of the early Neolithic near Callander (formerly Perthshire, now Stirling Council area) is described, and the remains appear to be those of a structure measuring a maximum of c 24m by 8.5m with roughly straight sides and curved terminals.
