Gravitational waves from stellar encounters
TL;DR: In this article, the emission of gravitational waves from a system of massive objects interacting on elliptical, hyperbolic and parabolic orbits is studied in the quadrupole approximation, and a crude estimate of the expected number of events towards peculiar targets (i.e. globular clusters) is also given.
Journal ArticleDOI
Second Order Scalar Invariants of the Riemann Tensor: Applications to Black Hole Spacetimes
TL;DR: In this article, the Kretschmann, Chern-Pontryagin and Euler invariants among the second order scalar invariants of the Riemann tensor in any spacetime in the Newman-Penrose formalism and in the framework of gravitoelectromagnetism are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Astrophysical structures from primordial quantum black holes
TL;DR: The characteristic sizes of astrophysical structures, up to the whole observed Universe, can be recovered, in principle, assuming that gravity is the overall interaction assembling systems starting from microscopic scales, whose order of magnitude is ruled by the Planck length and the related Compton wavelength as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reconstructing wormhole solutions in curvature based Extended Theories of Gravity
Vittorio De Falco,Emmanuele Battista,Salvatore Capozziello,Mariafelicia De Laurentis,Mariafelicia De Laurentis,Mariafelicia De Laurentis +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the curvature-based Extended Theories of Gravity (ETG) were used to reconstruct the spacetime out of the wormhole throat considering the asymptotic flatness as a physical property for the related gravitational field.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inertial Effects on Neutrino Oscillations
TL;DR: In this paper, the inertial effects on neutrino oscillations induced by the acceleration and angular velocity of a reference frame were analyzed in the framework of the solar and atmospheric neutrinos problem.
