Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical composition and antimicrobial activity of volatile components from capitula and aerial parts of Rhaponticum acaule DC growing wild in Tunisia.

TL;DR: It was found that oils from both parts of R. acaule, and especially that of C, exhibited interesting antibacterial activity, but no antifungal activity was observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

In vitro evaluation of antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of some Tunisian vegetables

TL;DR: Results may suggest that methanolic extracts of Solanum tuberosum and A. graveolens possess good antimicrobial activity, and therefore, they can be used in biotechnological fields as natural preservative ingredients in food and/or pharmaceutical industry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of methanol extracts of Evax pygmaea (Asteraceae) growing wild in Tunisia

TL;DR: In this paper, methanolic extracts obtained from the aerial parts of Evax pygmaea were tested against five bacteria and two strains of phytopathogenic fungi using the agar diffusion and broth microdilution methods.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antioxidant, antibacterial, and antiviral effects of Lactuca sativa extracts

TL;DR: In this paper, aqueous and methanol extracts of Lactuca sativa var longifolia leaves were evaluated using the DPPH assay and the antiviral activity was determined against human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) strain AD-169 (ATCC Ref. VR 538) and coxsackie B virus type 3 (CoxB-3) using a cytopathic effect reduction assay.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities of some extracts and pure natural products isolated from Rhus tripartitum (Ucria)

TL;DR: In this paper, a new biflavonoid masazinoflavanone (S1), myricetin (S2), (-)-lyoniresinol 3α-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (S3), and (-)-methyl shikimate (S4).
