A Simple and Practical Synthetic Protocol for Acetalisation, Thioacetalisation and Transthioacetalisation of Carbonyl Compounds under Solvent-Free Conditions

TL;DR: A wide variety of carbonyl compounds can be converted smoothly to the corresponding acetals on treatment with alcohols or diols and triethyl orthoformate in the presence of a catalytic amount of (bromodimethylsulfonium bromide) at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nickel(II) chloride as an efficient and useful catalyst for chemoselective thioacetalization of aldehydes

TL;DR: A wide variety of acyclic and cyclic dithioacetals can be prepared chemoselectively from the corresponding aldehydes by employing a catalytic amount of nickel(II) chloride in dry CH 2 Cl 2 -MeOH (5:1) at room temperature in good yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

Bromodimethylsulfonium bromide: A useful reagent for acylation of alcohols, phenols, amines, thiols, thiophenols and 1,1-diacylation of aldehydes under solvent free conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, a large-scale reaction was performed using acetic anhydride in the presence of bromodimethylsulfonium bromide pre-catalyst at room temperature in good yields.
Journal ArticleDOI

A catalytic amount of nickel(II) chloride hexahydrate and 1,2-ethanedithiol is a good combination for the cleavage of tetrahydropyranyl (THP) and tert-butyldimethylsilyl (TBS) ethers

TL;DR: In this article, a combination of a catalytic amount of nickel(II) chloride hexahydrate and 1,2-ethanedithiol at room temperature was used to unmask THP and TBS ethers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Mono- and bi-metallic Mn(III) complexes of macroacyclic salen type ligands: Syntheses, characterization and studies of their catalytic activity

TL;DR: In this paper, a six-coordinated Mn(III) species of a macroacyclic salen type ligand L [L = N,N'-cyclohexanebis(3-formyl-5-methylsalicylaldimine)] has been synthesized and characterized by X-ray single crystal structure analysis.
