Journal ArticleDOI

Organochlorine pesticides and heavy metals in the zooplankton, fishes, and shrimps of tropical shallow tidal creeks and the associated human health risk.

TL;DR: In this article, the surface water was polluted by hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCH: 525-1581 ǫng l−1), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane congeners (DDT: 188-377 l− 1), endosulfan congeners, and other OCPs (512-1334 Ãǫ l − 1) in three tidal creeks of the Indian Sundarban.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variations of surface water quality in selected tidal creeks of Sagar Island, Indian Sundarban eco-region: a multivariate approach

TL;DR: In this paper, the variation in the surface water quality in selected tidal creeks of Sagar Island, Indian Sundarbans was investigated to understand the present status of water quality for wildlife propagation and fisheries.
Book ChapterDOI

Persistent Organic Pollutants in the Coastal and Estuarine Regions Adjoining the Indian Periphery of the Bay of Bengal

TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized the findings from existing literature about the distribution and range of the principal classes of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in the coastal and estuarine sediments, water column, and biotas.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Multi-decadal Comparative Analysis of a Set of Physicochemical and Nutrient Parameters in the Tropical Tidal Creeks of Indian Sundarban Mangrove Biosphere Reserve

TL;DR: Salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), dissolved inorganic nitrate (DIN), DIP, and reactive silicate (DSi) concentrations were measured in three tidal creeks in the Sagar Island (situated within the Sundarban Biosphere Reserve, India) during 2016-17, once in a month throughout an annual cycle as discussed by the authors.
