Microplastics removal efficiency of drinking water treatment plant with pulse clarifier.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors evaluated the occurrence of microplastics at different treatment stages of a typical DWTP with pulse clarification and its removal efficiency and found that the most frequently occurring microplastic were fibers and films/fragments with polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylenes as a major chemical type.
Journal ArticleDOI

Status, Potential, Prospects, and Issues of Floodplain Wetland Fisheries in India: Synthesis and Review for Sustainable Management

TL;DR: The floodplain wetland resources of India are distributed in the Eastern and North Eastern States They possess varying morphometry, ecological profile, and trophic characteristics as mentioned in this paper, and are used for agricultural purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Seasonal influence of physicochemical parameters on phytoplankton diversity and assemblage pattern in Kailash Khal , a tropical wetland, Sundarbans, India

TL;DR: P pH, temperature, total hardness, TDS nitrate, phosphate and silicate showed a close affinity with the distribution of phytoplankton community as evident from canonical correspondence analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Organochlorine pesticides and heavy metals in the zooplankton, fishes, and shrimps of tropical shallow tidal creeks and the associated human health risk.

TL;DR: In this article, the surface water was polluted by hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCH: 525-1581 ǫng l−1), dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane congeners (DDT: 188-377 l− 1), endosulfan congeners, and other OCPs (512-1334 Ãǫ l − 1) in three tidal creeks of the Indian Sundarban.
Journal ArticleDOI

Impact assessment of barge trafficking on phytoplankton abundance and Chl a concentration, in River Ganga, India

TL;DR: The first such study which depicts the impact of ‘barge movement’ on aquatic food chain linkages in Bhagirathi- Hooghly river is depicted, revealing that phytoplankton biomass (Chlorophyll a) was influenced by ‘ bargemovement’ in the sampling stretches and the impact was assessed by one way ANOVA.
