Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of short term exposure of fenvalerate on biochemical and haematological responses in Labeo rohita (Hamilton) fingerlings

TL;DR: Significant alterations in SOD in Labeo rohita fingerlings were found after a sub-lethal concentration (1/3rd of LC 50 ) of fenvalerate was exposed for 15 days.

Use of natural carotenoids for pigmentation in fishes

TL;DR: The possible use of naturally available carotenoid rich ingredients such as microalgal pigments, yeast extract, marigold, capsicum, etc. has been discussed in this article.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dietary zinc promotes immuno-biochemical plasticity and protects fish against multiple stresses.

TL;DR: Results obtained in the present study indicate that supplementation of 10 and 20 mg/kg of Zn in the diet has a definitive role in the mitigation of lead (Pb) and temperature exposure along with pathogenic infection in P. hypophthalmus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Oxidative and cellular metabolic stress of Oreochromis mossambicus as biomarkers indicators of trace element contaminants

TL;DR: The finding of the present investigation provides a rational application of oxidative stress, cellular stress, neurotransmitter, lipid peroxide and some morphological parameters to be used as biomarkers for biomonitoring the contamination of trace elements in polluted aquatic environment.
Journal ArticleDOI

Stress mitigating and immunomodulatory effect of dietary pyridoxine in Labeo rohita (Hamilton) fingerlings

TL;DR: It is indicated that dietary pyridoxine supplementation at 100 mg PN kg−1 diet reduces the endosulfan-induced stress and triggers immune response in L. rohita fingerlings.
