Journal ArticleDOI
First Order Transition for the Optimal Search Time of Lévy Flights with Resetting
TL;DR: An intermittent search process in one dimension where a searcher undergoes a discrete time jump process starting at x_{0}≥0 and the mean first passage time (MFPT) to the origin is studied, which has a global minimum in the (μ,r) plane.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamical transition in the temporal relaxation of stochastic processes under resetting.
TL;DR: It is shown that as time progresses an inner core region around the resetting point reaches the steady state, while the region outside the core is still transient, and the boundaries of the core region grow with time as power laws at late times with new exponents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Run-and-tumble particle in one-dimensional confining potentials: Steady-state, relaxation, and first-passage properties
TL;DR: The dynamics of a one-dimensional run-and-tumble particle subjected to confining potentials of the type V(x)=α|x|^{p), with p>0, are studied and the stationary probability density P(x) has a rich behavior in the (p,α) plane.
Journal ArticleDOI
Performance limitations of flat-histogram methods.
P. Dayal,Simon Trebst,Stefan Wessel,Diethelm Würtz,Matthias Troyer,Sanjib Sabhapandit,Susan Coppersmith +6 more
TL;DR: The shape parameters of these distributions indicate that statistical sample means become ill defined already for moderate system sizes within these complex energy landscapes, as well as indicating the optimal scaling of local-update flat-histogram methods with system size.
Journal ArticleDOI
Steady state, relaxation and first-passage properties of a run-and-tumble particle in one-dimension
Kanaya Malakar,V. Jemseena,Anupam Kundu,K. Vijay Kumar,Sanjib Sabhapandit,Satya N. Majumdar,Sidney Redner,Abhishek Dhar +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the exact probability distribution of a run-and-tumble particle with and without diffusion on the infinite line, as well as in a finite interval, was investigated.
