Literature review of deteriorating inventory models by key topics from 2012 to 2015

The emergence of fuzzy sets makes job-shop scheduling problem (JSSP) become better aligned with the reality. This article addresses the JSSP with fuzzy execution time and fuzzy completion time (FJSSP). We choose the classic differential evolution (DE) algorithm as the basic optimization framework. The advantage of the DE algorithm is that it uses a special evolutionary strategy of difference vector sets to carry out mutation operation. However, DE is not very effective in solving some instances of FJSSP. Therefore, we propose a novel selection mechanism augmenting the generic DE algorithm (NSODE) to achieve better optimization results. The proposed selection operator adopted in this article aims at a temporary retention of all children generated by the parent generation, and then selecting N better solutions as the new individuals from N parents and N children. Various examples of fuzzy shop scheduling problems are experimented with to test the performance of the improved DE algorithm. The NSODE algorithm is compared with a variety of existing algorithms such as ant colony optimization, particle swarm optimization, and cuckoo search. Experimental results show that the NSODE can obtain superior feasible solutions compared with solutions produced by several algorithms reported in the literature.

Multi-objective sustainable opened- and closed-loop supply chain under mixed uncertainty during COVID-19 pandemic situation

Multi-objective transportation problem (MOTP) under intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) environment is analysed in this paper. Due to the fluctuation of market scenario, we assume that the transportation cost, the supply and the demand parameters are not always precise. Hence, the parameters are imprecise, i.e., they are IF numbers. Considering the specific cut interval, the IF transportation cost matrix is converted to interval cost matrix in our proposed problem.
 Again, using the same concept, the IF supply and the IF demand of the MOTP are reduced to the interval form. Then the proposed MOTP is changed into the deterministic MOTP, which includes interval form of the objective functions. Two approaches, namely intuitionistic fuzzy programming and goal programming, are used to derive the optimal solutions of our proposed problem, and then the optimal solutions are compared. A numerical example is included to illustrate the feasibility and the applicability of the proposed problem. Finally, we present the conclusions with the future scopes of our study.

New approach for solving intuitionistic fuzzy multi-objective transportation problem

This article is concerned with a multi-item inventory model for deteriorating items. The model is formed on the basis of a two-level supply chain policy, i.e., based on manufacturer's and retailer's perspective. The deterioration rate is considered as constant. The demand factor of any items suffer from a large amount of stock level; so, we consider stock-dependent demand function. The demand of any item is also dependent on its selling price; thus, a price-dependent demand function is introduced here. The retailer adopts the trade-credit policy for his customers in order to promote market competitiveness. He can earn revenue and interest after the customer pays the amount of purchasing cost to the retailer until the end of the trade-credit period, offered by the supplier. Shortages are allowed in the retailer's model as it is a very realistic item, too. A price discount on backordered commodities is offered for those customers who are willing to backorder their demand. Thereafter, we present an easy analytical solution procedure to find the total profit for both manufacturer and retailer. We also use the classical game theory and Nash equilibrium approach to find an optimal solution of the joint profit. The results are discussed with several numerical examples to illustrate our model and to provide some managerial insights related to the model. Furthermore, a parametric sensitivity analysis of the optimal solutions is provided and a concavity figure of our profit function is supplied to stabilize our model. The paper ends with a conclusion and an outlook to future research projects.

Multi-item deteriorating two-echelon inventory model with price- and stock-dependent demand: A trade-credit policy

Matrix games with fuzzy payoffs have spread itself nowadays in diverse fields. Fuzzy game theory with triangular type-1 fuzzy numbers are visited more by researchers. In this paper, we consider matrix games with payoffs as triangular type-2 intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, i.e., Triangular Type-2 Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrix Game (TT2IFMG) as a new and rare concept. A new ranking function is used to get relevant solutions of TT2IFMG. We are living in times of unprecedented scientific-technical advancement, yet facing several critical global problems that threaten human welfare and our ecosystem. Water management, a burning problem of the Earth now-a-days, is treated here under the scanner of TT2IFMG environment where we discuss some policy-management toward the free and fair accession of water against its limited resources.
